Liam Noble
Studied with Simon Purcell and John Taylor at the Guildhall, played with Stan Sulzmann, Anita Wardell, John Stevens and Harry Beckett, as well as one-off gigs with John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler. Recent projects include the bands of Christine Tobin and Bobby Wellins and a duo with Paul Clarvis playing the music of West Side Story, and a quintet featuring Chris Biscoe, Stan Sulzmann, Mick Hutton and Paul Clarvis. Recent years have seen increasing acclaim for Liam Noble as a writer and performer, and his Trio CD, Close my Eyes, and Quintet CD, In the Meantime, have received excellent reviews. His Quartet with Phil Robson, Drew Gress and Tom Rainey was a talking point of the 2004 Cheltenham Festival, and it recorded in New York last Autumn.
